Movie Trivia: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (2012)
Trivia: The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
In early January
2010, Sony announced that they cancelled their idea of making "Spider-Man
4" with director Sam
Raimi and actor Tobey
Maguire, who started their work together on Spider-Man,
and instead decided to re-boot the Spider-Man franchise with a new story and
crew.
This is the first
"Spider-Man" film to not feature Spider-Man's perennial love interest
Mary-Jane Watson (in the original three films played by Kirsten
Dunst). Instead, Peter Parker's original girlfriend Gwen Stacy
appears.
In this film
Spider-Man uses artificial devices to shoot webs, inspired from the original
comics where he possessed similar devices for his webbing (only later would he
gain his more famous superhuman ability to shoot webs). Marc
Webb explained the
web-shooters were a creative decision to showcase Peter's intellect: "We
wanted to emphasize that these are things that Peter Parker made and that he is
special himself even if he feels like he's an outsider."
Movie Trivia: The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Trivia: The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Christian
Bale has stated that
he would not play Batman if Robin appeared anywhere in the trilogy. Christopher
Nolan agreed not to
include Robin as it would undermine the dark tone of his series.
After The
Dark Knight was
released, Aaron
Eckhart expressed
interest in returning as Harvey
"Two-Face" Dent, as the film had left his role relatively open-ended. Christopher
Nolan stated that Dent
was definitely dead, and that his death would leave lasting repercussions
across Gotham .
Christopher
Nolan picked Bane as
the main villain. Coincidentally, with no known relation, the name of one of
the creators of Bane for the comic books is Graham Nolan.

Movie Trivia: THE HUNGER GAMES (2012)
THE HUNGER GAMES (2012)
Liam Hemsworth and Jennifer
Lawrence, both natural blondes, dyed their hair brown for their
roles in the film while Josh
Hutcherson, naturally dark-haired, dyed his hair blond for his part.
The name of the main character, Katniss, is derived from the
name of a group of edible plant species, genus "Sagittaria", commonly
known as "arrowhead". This is a reference to the character's archery
skills.
The fictional nation
in the film is called Panem. This is derived from "Panem et
Circenses," or "Bread and Circuses," which comes from the latter
days of the Roman Empire , in which the
government would keep the masses satisfied not by performing their public
services well, but by providing violent and deadly entertainments for the
people to watch, which is rather fitting for the subject matter of the film.

Movie Trivia: TWILIGHT SAGA - TWILIGHT (2008)
Twilight (2008)
Kristen
Stewart has naturally
green eyes. She wears brown contacts for filming to match Bella's eye color.
Kellan
Lutz intended on keeping
his natural curly hair for the role of Emmett Cullen. However, his previous
role in Generation
Kill required a buzz
cut and his hair didn't grow fast enough for the filming of Twilight.
Henry
Cavill was Stephenie
Meyer's first choice to play Edward. However, but by the time
production was to begin, he was 25 years old, and no longer looked the part of
a 17-year old. He was then offered the part of Carlisle Cullen but turned it
down due to his commitment with The
Tudors.
For the role of Edward
Cullen, Robert
Pattinson flew from England to
director Catherine
Hardwicke's house to audition. There, he and Kristen
Stewart, who was already cast as Bella Swan, rehearsed the
"Love Scene"/"Meadow Scene" on Hardwicke's own bed.
Movie trivia: TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE (2010)
Eclipse (2010)
Robert
Pattinson refused to
let his eyebrows be plucked/waxed down as they had been in the previous two
films.
The note Bella
retrieves from her drawer that happens to be from Jacob is actually the same
note that is used as the prologue of the 'Eclipse' novel. Just as in the novel,
lines of text are scored out rather than erased.
Rachelle
Lefevre was fired by
Summit Entertainment from this movie, because her filming schedule overlapped
with that of her other movie Barney's
Version, and was replaced by Bryce
Dallas Howard
When
Charlie is sitting at the kitchen table looking at the Riley flyer, it states
that Riley was born April 10th, 1990. This is the day after Kristen
Stewart's birthday. She was born April 9th, 1990.
Movie Trivia: TWILIGHT SAGA - NEW MOON (2009)
New Moon (2009)
When Carlisle
is cleaning out Bella's wound after her disastrous eighteenth birthday party,
he drops a match into the bowl with the glass, blood gauze, etc. If you look
closely, you can see that it resembles the cover of the novel 'New Moon'. This
is similar to what Melissa
Rosenberg did in Twilight,
when Edward caught the apple that Bella dropped in the cafeteria.
After months of
speculation and rumors, director Chris
Weitz and the novel's
author, Stephenie
Meyer, confirmed on her official website that Taylor
Lautner would be
reprising his role as Jacob Black. It was doubted as the filmmakers feared he
would not be able to become fit enough in time. However, he was given the
go-ahead after gaining 26 pounds of muscle.
Each member of the
wolf pack had to have papers proving their Native descent. Chaske
Spencer is Lakota
(Sioux), Bronson
Pelletier is
Cree-Metis, Alex
Meraz is Purepecha
(Tarasco), Kiowa
Gordon is Hualapai,
and Tyson
Houseman, who was discovered at an open casting call, is Cree.
Movie Trivia: TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN Part 1 & 2 (2011 & 2012)
Breaking Dawn (2011 & 2012)
According to Bella and
Edward's wedding invitations, the address of the Cullen residence is listed as
420 Woodcroft Ave Forks, WA.
Kristen
Stewart has said in an
interview that filming Bella and Edward's honeymoon sex scene was very awkward,
and that by the end of the shoot, she didn't even feel like they had just
filmed a passionate scene.
Robert
Pattinson went through
a strict diet and exercise regime for six months in preparation before filming.
He stopped his routine after filming the much-talked-about sex scene.
Kristen
Stewart said Taylor
Lautner was in tears
when the cast watched an unfinished cut.
The sex scene between
Edward and Bella originally caused the film to receive an R rating by the MPAA.
The scene had to be edited to receive a PG-13 rating.

Movie Trivia: PROMETHEUS (2012)
PROMETHEUS TRIVIA:
Director Ridley Scott named the film "Prometheus", seeing the name aptly fit the film's themes: "It's the story of creation; the gods and the man who stood against them." In Greek mythology, the Titan Prometheus was a servant of the gods, who stole and gave to mankind the gift of fire, an immeasurable benefit that changed the human race forever (for better AND worse).
The film was originally to be called "Paradise" in December 2010.
Was originally intended as a prequel to Ridley Scott's Alien, but Scott decided to turn it into an original film with Noomi Rapace (who was already set to star) still in the cast as one of five main characters. Some time later however it was confirmed that while the movie will take place in the same universe as Alien and greatly reference that movie, it will mostly be an original movie and not a direct prequel.

Movie Trivia: THE AVENGERS (2012)
The Avengers Trivia:
The final end credit scene was added after 'Robert Downey Jr'. encouraged a rewrite of a previous scene. After Thor rips off Iron Man's mask to reveal an unconscious Tony Stark, who had just fallen back to Earth, Tony originally awakens and asks, "What's next?". Robert Downey Jr. thought the line could be more interesting, and the idea of going to a local shawarma restaurant was born. The scene was added two days after the Hollywood premiere.
Mark Ruffalo claims to be the only actor to date (2012) to play both The Hulk and Bruce Banner in the same movie. Technically, both Eric Bana and Edward Norton have done motion capture work for their respective Hulks, but Ruffalo is the first actor to perform the Hulk live on set via performance capture.
